He composed the music for the 1955 Greek film Stella, an adaptation of Carmen. The film’s star, Melina, performed his song “Love That Became A Double-Edged Knife” as the soundtrack.
He was a native of Xanthi in Greece and the son of Aliki Arvanitidou, as well as Georgios Hatzidakis, an attorney.
