- He is a Japanese professional wrestler best known for his work with All Japan Pro Wrestling. He was previously a Canadian resident and trained at the Can-Am Wrestling School, under Scott D’Amore. He also worked regularly for Maximum Pro Wrestling. He is currently signed to Wrestle-1.
Soya was a matchmaker on the Wrestle-1 All Japan splinter promotion Wrestle-1. He made his debut on January 12, 2014. Soya was depicted as an authority figure who favors former tag team partner Seiya Snada. Soya surprised everyone by returning to the ring for a twenty man battle royal on February 15. This helped Sanada win the match and become the number one contender for the TNA X Division Championship. Soya lost to MasayukiKono in his official return match at Wrestle-1 on February 21. Kai defeated Soya in a grudge match on May 4th. Soya lost his job at Wrestle-1 as matchmaker. Wrestle-1 announced that Soya had signed with their promotion on August 8. This ended his days as a freelancer. Soya was eliminated by Kai in the first round of Wrestle-1’s Championship tournament. Mid-2014 saw Soya enter a storyline in which he accused Akira, a spy for the evil Desperado stable, of being false. After it was revealed that Soya had been mistaken and Tajiri had been spying, Soya, Akira, and other members of Get Wild formed the “new Wild order”. The new Wild order participated in the First Tag League Greatest tournament that was to determine the inaugural Wrestle-1 Tag Team Champions. They finished second in their block with two wins, one draw, and one loss. New Wild order defeated Tajiri and Masayuki Kono on November 30 to reach the tournament’s finals. They were then defeated by Kaz Hayashi (later that day) and Shuji Koondo (later). Wrestle-1 set up a rematch between both finalist teams following the tournament. However, Soya (and Akira) were defeated again in the title rematch December 7. Soya was denied his chance at the Wrestle-1 Champion’s title, and was defeated by Keiji Mutoh, the current champion. The new Wild order was given another chance at the Wrestle-1 tag team championship on April 1. However, they were defeated again by Hayashi and Kondo. Soya, Akira, and others announced that they were seeking new members for the Wild order. Jun Kasai, rookie Kumagoro and Hayashi were then invited to an evaluation match. This resulted in Jun Kasai becoming the third and fourth members for new Wild order. It has now become a stable and a tag team. Soya, Kasai and Hayashi defeated Kondo and Kondo to win Wrestle-1 Tag team Championship. Shuji Kondo defeated Soya in the finals on August 30 to win the 2015 Wrestle-1 grand prix. Kai was defeated by Soya on September 21 to win the Wrestle-1 Champion. Soya and Kasai were defeated by Kai on September 21 to win the Wrestle-1 Championship. Shuji Kondo and Masayuki Kono won the Wrestle-1 Tag team championship. Soya was defeated by Yuji Hino in the Wrestle-1 Championship on January 10, 2016. Soya won the Wrestle-1 Grand Prize for the second time in a row on July 1. He defeated Hino in finals. Soya and Kasai were awarded the Wrestle-1 Tag team Championship on July 29. Soya was sidelined by a shoulder injury and he and Kasai lost the title on August 20. The finals of All Japan’s 2016 World’s Strongest Tag Determination League were held on December 18. Get Wild defeated Jake Lee, Kento Miyahara and reunified.
Manabu Soya, All Japan veteran Takao Omori formed the “GET WILD” team in late 2011 and early 2012. Soya, Omori and Dark Cuervo defeated Dark Ozz and Dark Ozz to win their World Tag Team Championship on March 20, 2012. Soya, Omori won the title back on June 17 after losing it to Joe Doering (May 20) and Seiya Snada (June 20). They took the title off the table on October 30 in time to compete in the 2012 World’s Strongest Tag Determination League. The team of Turmeric Storm (Tomoaki Honna and Kazushi Myamoto) won Block A. They defeated Last Revolution (Joe Doering, Suwama), to reach the finals and win the 2012 World Strongest Tag Determination League. This allowed them to become the 64th generation World Tag Team Champions. Soya challenged Masakatsu Funaki to the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship on December 11. Get Wild, which still held the World Tag Team Championship, was forced to dissolve. On March 17, 2013, Get Wild lost the title to Burning (Go Shiozaki, Jun Akiyama), Soya was left with a cervical hernia, and an oculomotor neuro palsy. Soya had eye surgery on May 29th and shoulder surgery June 12th. Soya, who is still out of the in-ring action but not able to perform any surgery on his eyes or shoulder, held a press conference December 27, 2013 to announce his resignation from All Japan.
