He was the former singer of LIV. In 2011, he was convicted of drug abuse and failing to assist a friend who died from the effects of drugs he gave her.
In August 2008, he announced that he was going to revive his band LIV. The band will “start from zero”, according to his words. They had already introduced new members to the band and were working on a new record.
On December 7, 2009, he was arrested again by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.
On August 2, 2009 he was arrested at Roppongi Hills for possession of MDMA during an investigation into the death of a hostess. He was subsequently dropped by Avex Entertainment for violating his contract and his music labels cancelled distribution of all his releases. After his arrest his wife Akiko Yada decided to file for divorce, citing “incompatible values”

Oshio made his acting debut at the age of 17 in Ai, Tokidoki Ushuo. In 2002, Oshio founded his band LIV. Their debut album, “The First Chapter”, was released in October 2002. Their second single, Try, was released in May. It reached number one on the Oricon charts.
According to reports, Oshio announced that he would be quitting acting in order to pursue his musical career on October 4, 2005. Oshio left his management company and joined the indie label Daiki Sound. Oshio’s final drama was Satomi Hakkenden. He married Akiko Yada in 2006.
Oshio decided to make a return to acting in 2008. He signed to Avex Entertainment, citing that he would like to expand his international career and was happy with Avex Entertainment’s global aims.
