Majok Deng is one of the most popular and richest Basketball Player who was born on March 1, 1993 in Bor, Jonglei State, South Sudan. Born in Bor, Sudan, Deng spent seven to eight years of the first part of his life there. After spending several years in a Kenyan refugee camps, he moved to Australia in 2006. Deng settled in Adelaide with his sister and mother.
Deng was back with the Forestville Eagles in 2012 Central ABL season. In 16 games, Deng averaged 10.3 and 5.9 points per game. He scored 13 points in his final match for the Eagles, which was on 18 August 2012. They won the preliminary final without Deng and advanced to the grand final. They faced the Sturt Sabres in the grand final. However, this time they defeated them with an overtime win of 86-78.
On 22 April 2014, Deng signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I college basketball for Louisiana–Monroe.
As a junior at Louisiana–Monroe in 2014–15, Deng played in all 38 games and made 37 starts. He recorded eight double-doubles, 25 double-figure scoring games and a pair of 20-plus scoring outings. He averaged 10.7 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game on the year. He also led the team in blocked shots with 1.3 per game, ranking third in the league. He subsequently earned third-team All-Sun Belt Conference, All-Louisiana first team, and College Sports Madness All-SBC second team honours. In the CBI Tournament semi-final on 25 March 2015, Deng scored a season-high 22 points in a 71–65 win over Vermont. The Warhawks went on to lose the CBI Championship Series with a 2–0 defeat to Loyola.
After scoring 23 points for South Australia in the losing Australian Under-20 Championship Grand Final, Deng, a Forestville Eagles coach, was recruited to play college basketball in America. Deng enrolled at Indian Hills Community College, where he joined the Warriors’ men’s basketball team. Deng was a freshman in 2012-13 and played in 27 games. He was also one of the first to be used by Barret Peery off the bench. He averaged 3.8 rebounds and 2.9 points per game. Deng’s most memorable moment was when he made three three-pointers in overtime to win Indian Hills 104-99.

Majok Machar (born 1 March 1993 in South Sudan) is a South Sudanese and Australian professional basketball player who plays for the Cairns Taipans (NBL). After winning the Central ABL Championships in 2011 and 2012 with the Forestville Eagles, Deng moved to America to study. He first played for Indian Hills Community College. He transferred to Louisiana-Monroe in 2014 and played two years of Division I college basketball with the Warhawks. As a senior, he led the Sun Belt Conference’s scoring and blocks. Deng joined the Adelaide 36ers in 2016, after he returned to Adelaide.
Deng had originally hoped to play professional soccer. However, a remarkable growth spurt of 11 cm over 12 months changed Deng’s life and he switched from soccer to basketball. Deng began playing basketball in 2009 and was playing under-18s division 3 basketball for Forestville by 2010. Scott Freer, his under-18s coach, was responsible for Deng’s rapid growth and rapid rise. He provided him with specialist training for a period of two years. Deng tried out with the Forestville Eagles’ Central ABL club in December 2010. He was successful in getting a roster spot for 2011. Deng’s Eagles teammate Rashad Tucker (former NBL player) took on a mentorship role during his rookie season. Tucker was a mentor to the development of Sudanese-born athletes. Deng helped the Eagles win Central ABL Grand Final in September 2011. With 87 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Norwood trailed the Eagles by eight points. However, Tucker and Deng rallied their team to win the Central ABL Grand Final. Deng entered the game in the third quarter with 1.34 seconds remaining and instantly generated the kind of energy that was lacking in his teammates for the majority of the night. Deng finished the night with two points and six rebounds. He also had one steal, one block, and his team’s 20 point advantage with Deng on the floor. The match was won by the Eagles 82 to 68. He averaged 4.2 points per game and 2.7 rebounds in 18 games with the Eagles in 2011.
On 7 November 2013, Deng was named the recipient of the Arnold Black Memorial Scholarship. It is awarded to a sophomore member of the Warriors who best exemplifies the strong competitive spirit shown by Black and exhibits his love for the game of basketball. As a sophomore in 2013–14, Deng averaged 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. In his sophomore campaign, Deng’s top offensive performance came when he scored 16 points in a 132–84 victory over John Wood Community College. He guided the program to a 34–3 record in 2013–14 and a combined 60–7 record in his two years. He also led Indian Hills to the 2014 Regional and District Championships.
