In 2007, the Kopila Valley Children’s Home opened, and, gradually, Doyne became the legal guardian for more than 45 children. Together with the help of Nepali caregivers, Maggie lives at the home and cares for the children.

After graduating from high school in 2005, she traveled to Nepal for the first time. She met Hema, a young girl from Nepal. She helped her to attend school and purchase supplies. Doyne was inspired by this experience to buy land in the Kopila valley, where she would establish her foundation.
Doyne helped to build the Kopila valley Children’s School and Children’s Home, where children from all walks of life are educated and cared for. Doyne was the legal guardian for all 50 children who lived at the home in 2015. Doyne also established a community women’s center and a health clinic.
