He is perhaps best known for his time in WWE, where he performed on their NXT brand under the ring name Sawyer Fulton, and was part of Sanity.
Southwick trained to be a professional wrestler at the ASWA Pro Wrestling Training Center in Mansfield, Ohio. He made his professional wrestling debut for Mid-Ohio Wrestling as Big Jake South on October 16, 2009, defeating Izzy Lambert. He won the Mid-Ohio Tag Team Titles with Cyrus Poe, and challenged unsuccessfully for various other championships within the promotion including as the Tri-County Heavyweight Title and the World Title.
