Barlow, who played left-wing in the 2009-2010 season, scored 19 goals in 20 games and won the Blackpool F.C. Ladies, their second promotion in as many years.

In April 2011, Barlow and Blackpool FC Ladies made history by playing a competitive fixture on Bloomfield Road. Barlow shone in that game scoring two and being named Player of the Match. The Ladies were boosted in particular by a 6–0 victory at home to Carlisle. This was a significant fixture as it was the first time that Blackpool FC had hosted their own Ladies’s team at Bloomfield Road in a competitive league fixture.

Barlow retired from playing football in June 2017.

Before joining Blackpool F.C., Barlow spent a time at Blackpool Wren Rovers. Lady Barlow was part of the County Division Two side which won promotion in 2008-2009. She then joined Blackpool F.C. as Player Manager. Marco Vidoretti, Dave Kelly and Mick Perrett were brought in to help form the management team. They were promoted as champions again in 2009-10, and finished second in the Lancashire FA County Cup. This was after an extra-time defeat of 3-1 to Rochdale Blues at LFA County Ground.

Barlow was a Preston Rangers W.F.C. player. Barlow was part of the team that reached the semi-finals of the FA Women’s Cup 1989-90 and 1982-83. She played Left Back. They became Preston North End W.F.C. in 1997. They were crowned champions in 1997-98, and were promoted to the Northern Combination Women’s Football League. The club was officially affiliated to Preston North End F.C. in 1999.
