Lyubov andreyevna Schutova (Russian name: Liubov’ andreevna Shtova; born 25 June 1983), is a Russian fencer. She was World champion in 2009, and team World champions in 2013 and 2014.
Shutova was replaced in the national team by Tatyana Andrushina during the 2012-13 season. As Anna Sivkova, team captain, was injure, she was again selected for the following season. She reached the quarter-finals of the European Championships where she was defeated in the final by Marie-Florence Candassamy from France. The No.1 seed Russia defeated Poland in the quarterfinals and then beat Estonia to reach the final. Shutova was tied at the end of the first leg, but Simona Geerman hit four consecutive hits to give Romania the lead. Shutova tried desperate measures to win the match, but it was too late. Russia lost 38-34 to Russia and took home a silver medal. Shutova was eliminated in Kazan’s World Championships by Choi Eunsook in the first round. Russia won the team event narrowly by defeating South Korea in quarter-finals. Then, they defeated Hungary and beat Estonia in the final for the gold medal.
Shutova took up fencing at the age of twelve after being invited to watch a training session at her local club. She trained under the direction of Sergey Dovgosheya, a friend of her parents, who she describes as a second father and who remains her personal coach as of 2014.
Shutova won the 2008-09 World Cup title in Saint-Maur. She defeated Laura Flessel-Colovic of France in the quarter-final and then won over Anfisa Pochkalova from Ukraine to meet Canada’s Sherraine Schlalm in final. After a close match Shutova made the decisive hit in priority and won Russia’s first World title for women’s epee. She was crowned World No. 6, a career record.

Shutova was a member of the Russian national team at the 1998 World Youth Games. She won a silver medal in 2000 at the Junior European Championships, Antalya. She also won a team medal of gold at the Junior World Championships, South Bend.
Shutova won a bronze medal at the 2002 European Championships, Moscow in the senior category. With a silver medal at the Nanjing Grand Prix 2008, Shutova climbed to her first World Cup podium. In the team event Russia prevailed comfortably over Ukraine, then met No.3 seed China in the semi- finals. Shutova gave her team a slight advantage in her first bout, but China managed to even the score each time and Sun Yi eventually gave China the victory in overtime. Russia then fenced the United States in the match for bronze. Shutova entered her last relay with the score tied at 23, but was outscored 2–4 by Maya Lawrence. Anna Sivkova equalized in the last relay, but once again the decisive hit in overtime was against Russia, who exited the competition with no medal.
