Lynette Velma Mcclells, also known as Lyn McKenzie (born 11 May 1951), is an Australian butterfly swimmer who won a gold medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City in the 100-metre butterfly.
McClements was inducted into the Sport of Australia’s Hall of Fame in 1991, and the Swimming WA’s Hall of Fame in 2008.
In 2018 she was the second inductee into Swimming WA’s Hall of Legends, recognising “outstanding swimming performances at an international level… deemed to have inspired the nation and to have established the name of the athlete, their State and their country on the world stage.”
McClements won the Australian Championships 100-meter and 200-metre butterfly titles in 1969. McClements was disqualified the next year after she was found to have used an illegal stroke. She retired after being omitted from the 1970 Commonwealth Games selection.

McClements, a Perth native, was suffering from asthma and took up swimming as a way to alleviate her condition. In the 1960s, McClements switched to butterfly after she had previously focused on the backstroke and freestyle. McClements almost gave up competitive swimming a year ago, but her uncle, Les McClements, an Australian rules football player, convinced her otherwise.
She won her first Australian title in the 100-meter butterfly in 1968. This earned her selection for the Mexico City Olympics.
Her daughter, Jacqueline McKenzie, represented Australia at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the 200-metre and 400-metre individual medley.
