Ludwig Blochberger was a 1982 East Berlin native. His father Lutz Blochberger, an actor and director, and his mother Gitta (a puppeteer), studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts. Due to their theater involvements, the couple moved to Dresden in 1984. Ludwig was a student at the Kreuzschule Dresden for one-year in 1990. In 1992, Ludwig moved to Vienna with the Vienna Boys Choir. He remained there until 1995. He was a member of the famous Austrian Boys Choir and began to travel the world via joint concerts (USA, Japan, Australia). He made his debut in theater when he appeared in Chur’s open-air theater, in Switzerland, in 1995 in the production of Woyzeck. He was able to continue his performances at Vienna Burgtheater. In the production of Edward II, directed and directed by Claus Peymann, he played the role of Prince Edward III. Ludwig returned to Berlin in 1999 and starred as ‘Klaus Heuser,’ in the award-winning TV mini-series The Manns – Novel of a Century. Niki Stein directed him, and he was the lead role. He played the role of the unscrupulous Obersturmfuhrer Crewes in The Last Train, directed by Joseph Vilsmaier and Dana Vavrova. Crewes was responsible for escorting one of the last deportation trains from Auschwitz to Auschwitz.

Since fall 2015, Ludwig and Stephanie Stumph play in the ZDF channel crime series The Old Fox, the commissioner ‘Tom Kupfer’, alongside of Jan-Gregor Kremp as Chief Inspector ‘Richard Voss’.
