The NFL’s Buffalo Bills drafted him in the 8th round of the 1982 NFL Draft, 218th overall. He chose to not sign with the Bills and instead joined CFL.
Tousignant’s one professional season was 1982 CFL with the Montreal Concordes. (This is part of the Montreal Alouettes franchise heritage. He started 5 times and played in every one of the 16 games. He was the WVIAC’s offensive players of the year and second-team All-America honoree. In 1981, he led the Falcons, with a 9-2 overall record and a berth at the NAIA Playoffs. He held school records for 14 years with his 4,737 passing yards, 30 career touchdown passes and a total of 30.
In 2008, the Fairmont State University Athletic Association named him to their Athletic Hall of Fame.
