Teresa Marie Ryan, born January 4, 1958 and died January 16, 2019, better known as Lorna Doom, is an American musician. She was best known for her role as bass guitarist in the punk rock band The Germs between 1976-1980 and again when they reunited in 2005-2009.

She was an underrated musician, and I thought she was a very strong presence on the guitar. The Germs had a huge impact on people, and Lorna’s contributions will live on.

In 2008, the Guitar Center RockWalk awarded The Germs a star. Bijou Phillips played Doom in the 2007 movie What We Do is Secret.

Doom was a friend to Pat Smear’s founders Darby Cras and Pat Smear. She joined The Germs despite her lack of musical talent after she answered a flyer asking for “two untalented girls”. After Don Bolles, Crash’s drummer, was fired in 1980, Doom quit the band. Doom, who had been with Crash until his death, moved from California to New York City. She remained there until the end of the 1990s.

Doom died of breast cancer on January 16, 2019, twelve days after her 61st birthday.
