Lorenzo Mattotti, born 24 January 1954, is an Italian comics artist and illustrator. His illustrations have appeared in magazines like Cosmopolitan and Vogue as well as Le Monde, Le Monde, and Vanity Fair. Mattotti was awarded an Eisner Award for Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde in comics in 2003.

Stigmates (1998) was an original black-and-white comic that featured linear drawings and was darker than The Man in the Window. It is the story of a drunk who awakens one morning with stigmata.

Apart from his comics Mattotti found fame as an illustrator. In 2011 Mattotti illustrated The Raven by famed musician Lou Reed. The book was published by the American publishing company Fantagraphics.

Mattotti was known for his mastery of color comics after “Fires”. His public was shocked by his 1992 black-and-white comic, “The Man at the Window”. He created this comic with Lilia Ambrosi, his ex-wife.
