Burzigotti was born in Sansepolcro in the Province of Arezzo. He began his career at Sansepolcro and was signed by Arezzo in 2004. He graduated from the youth under-20 team in 2006 and was loaned to Sansovino. He was transferred to Juve Sabia in January 2007. However, he only played 9 games that season. He was sold to South Tyrol as part of a co-ownership agreement on 31 August 2007. Burzigotti was called up by Reggina on 13 July 2010. The transfer was completed shortly thereafter. He only played seven times. At the beginning of the season, Burzigotti wore no.5 jersey from Vincenzo Camilleri.

Burzigotti returned to Reggio Calabria again on 1 July 2013. He did not have any shirt number for Reggina in 2013–14 Serie B. On 2 September 2013 Burzigotti and Francesco Bombagi were signed by Grosseto, with Valerio Foglio moved to opposite direction.
