Grubman is alleged to have made an inflamatory statement before hitting her victims with her vehicle. Later, it was alleged that Grubman received “special treatment” from police. Despite allegations and criminal charges that she was drunk at the time of the incident, they did not conduct a Breathalyzer. Grubman was sentenced to up to eight years imprisonment in the criminal case. However, she served only thirty-eight consecutive days in jail. After a plea deal for leaving the scene after a car accident, Grubman received five years probation. Grubman claims that the SUV accident was an accident.
