Lizzette Kattan is one of the most popular and richest Journalist who was born on December 18, 1951 in San Pedro Sula, Cortés Department, Honduras. Her passion for being in front the camera faded over her brief modeling career. She eventually took a job with Edizioni Syds which was part of Harper’s Bazaar Italia. Her career began organizing photo shoots for Italian Cosmopolitan. She was the Fashion Director at Italian Cosmopolitan until 1976, when she made her big break.

Kattan, who had been working at Harper’s Bazaar since 1986, decided to take a break from her position and raise her sons.

In 1990 Kattan became the commercial attaché of the Honduran Embassy in Rome. She was responsible for various publications attracting foreign investment from Italy. In 2002 Kattan became the Consul general of Honduras in Milan, which serviced the region of Lombardy and Venice. This post was held until 2007.

Kattan created the concept and help organize two museum exhibits in Europe. “Les Mayas au pays de Copan” was held at the Abbaye de Daoulas from the 5th of April and 7 September 1997. “I Maya di Copan – L’atene del Centro America” was exhibited at the Palazzo Reale in Milan from the 3rd of October 1997 to the 1st of March 1998.

Harper’s Bazaar France opened in Paris in 1983 with Kattan as Editor-in Chief. She held that position until December 1985.

Lizzette Kattan is a Honduran-born fashion journalist who worked in Milan and New York between 1976 and 1986 for Harper’s Bazaar Italy and Harper’s Bazaar France. She also worked as a Uomo Harper’s Bazaar editor and Italian Cosmopolitan. She worked with almost every major photographer during that time and was able to discover many of the most prominent photographic talents today. Kattan, who was then retired from fashion, began her diplomatic career in 1990 as the Commercial Attache at the Honduran Embassy, Rome. She later became the Consulate General in Milan in 2002. She is currently a freelance stylist for international publications.

Her creative genius gained momentum, and she was appointed Fashion Director at Harper’s Bazaar Italia. Her greatest achievement was the 1979 launch of Men’s Harper’s Bazaar. Harper’s Bazaar Uomo was later named after the magazine. She was close to many of the most important talents of that time, including Valentino, Gianni Versace and Ottavio Missoni.

In effort to promote the country of Honduras, Kattan created a quarterly publication called “Honduran Highlights” which highlighted culture, tourism and investment opportunities. The publication existed from 1990 to 2007.
