Pike received 61.3 percent of votes, Shehorn received 30.1 percent, and Gomphertz 8.6 percent. Pike won 60.46 percent, Shehorn 39.54 percent. Pike’s term in office as a state representative for Position 1 18th District ended December 6, 2012. On January 14, 2013, she was sworn into office as the state representative for Position 2 in the 18th District.

Pike challenged Paul Dennis, the Camas City Council mayor, in 2007. After publishing a scathing letter from a reader, The Vancouver Voice drew attention to the mayoral race. Her attorney wrote a complaint to the paper, as well as the author of the letter (who is not affiliated with the paper’s staff). Dennis won 25 percent of the vote and defeated Pike in the General Election.

Elizabeth Jane Pike, nee Samwel, was born January 7, 1960. She is an American politician. Pike is a Republican serving as the 18th Legislative District representative in the Washington House of Representatives. Pike was elected to finish Ann Rivers’ 2011-13 state representative term in the 18th district in Position 1. Rivers was appointed to finish Joe Zarelli’s 2009-13 term in the 18th district as State Senator. Zarelli retired. Brandon Vick was elected the 18th District state representative in Position 1 in 2012’s election. This position was vacant by Pike due to her successful campaign for Position 2.

Pike ran for a non-partisan position at-large on the Camas City Council in 2003. Pike won the primary under her married surname Erikson with 51 percent. This was against David Gast’s 35.8 and Bruce Lindoff’s 13.3 percent. Pike won the General Election with 51.72 per cent of the vote. Gast was third at 35.8 percent and Bruce Lindoff’s 13.3 percent.

On January 23, 2012, Pike announced that she would be running for state representative in the 18th District in Position 2, vacated by Ed Orcutt who was redistricted into the 20th District. The 18th District’s state senator, Joe Zarelli, announced minutes after the end of the candidate filing period on May 18, 2012, that he would not be seeking reelection. Zarelli notified Ann Rivers earlier in the day that he wouldn’t be seeking reelection and invited her to run for his soon to be former senate seat. Likewise, minutes before the end of the filing period State Representative Paul Harris informed Brandon Vick that Rivers was going to run for Zarelli’s senate seat and that he should run for Rivers’ state representative seat. At the end of May, Zarelli announced that he would not only be not running for reelection, but retiring early. His resignation set off a chain of events, wherein Rivers was first appointed to complete Zarelli’s senate term. Pike was appointed to complete Rivers’ term as state representative. The Cowlitz and Clark county commissioners had selected Pike, despite Vick being the first choice of the district’s Precinct Committee Officers.
