Barker joined Blue Peter’s children’s television program on 23 June 2000. She reported from India, Brazil, India, Brazil, Greece, India, Greece, Austria, Greece and India over her six-year tenure on the program. She was able to do an inverted spin in the jet, paragliding and lawn mower racing. She won a bronze medal at the British Bobsleigh championships for the two-woman Bob.
