Popeil (January 22, 1915- July 17, 1984) & Eloise Popeil (19 November 21, 1925 – December 11, 2010, 2010). Ron Popeil, Popeil’s halfbrother, is an inventor/marketer.
Popeil, who was in lingerie with Frank Zappa at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1981, sang “Lisa’s Life Story”, the “Dangerous Kitchen” and “Teenage Prostitute”. This song was featured on Zappa’s album Ship Arriving too Late to Save A Drowning Witch, which also included Zappa’s most-sold song, “Valley Girl”. A cut version of “Lisa’s Life Story”, was included on Zappa’s album Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch, which was released in 1992. Popeil has been singing back-up vocals since 1983 with “Weird Al Yankovic,” notably on “Mr. Popeil”, which is a tribute to her father.
Popeil taught pop and classical voice classes at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California from 1989-1999, private jazz voice at CalArts in 1995, and was an adjunct voice teacher at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California from 2014-2015.
In 1995, Popeil released her Total Singer video/DVD program followed by the educational CD How to Speak Beautifully. In reference to her father being a pitchman for gadgets, she says she is “The pitch woman of voice”.
She attended Prescott College, Arizona in 1974. After that, she went to the California Institute of the Arts, where she received her BFA (piano, composition, and voice) as well as an MFA (voice).

Lisa Stephanie Popeil, born February 24, 1956, in Chicago, is an American singer, voice coach, and musician. She is the inventor of Voiceworks Method, and a voice coach who specializes in the pedagogy for vocal styles.
Popeil began her musical training at age four, when she started studying voice and piano. Popeil was educated at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and Sacred Heart Schools. She graduated from Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California, after she moved to California in 1971.
In 1984, Popeil produced her self-titled album Lisa Popeil which was chosen as a Billboard “Top Album Pick”. That record featured Steve Vai and Joe LoDuca as guest musicians. She appeared at a 1998 concert at the Getty Center, performing in Erik Satie’s Socrate.
