Partridge is currently the Weldon Professor of Biology at the Institute of Healthy Ageing, Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment, University College London and the Founding Director of the Max Planck Institute for the Biology of Ageing, Cologne, Germany.
The UKRC named Dame Linda one of six Women of Outstanding Achievement In Science, Engineering, and Technology in March 2009.

Partridge completed her DPhil at Oxford and was appointed a NERC postdoctoral fellow at York University. She then moved to Edinburgh in 1976, where she was made Professor of Evolutionary Biology. Partridge was appointed Weldon Professor of Biometry at University College London (UCL), and served as the Director of the Institute of Healthy Ageing from 2007 to 2019. Partridge was elected Director of the Max Planck Society in 2008 and Founding Director of Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Cologne, Germany.
Partridge was made a Fellow of the Royal Society by 1996. She was also appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2003. In 2005, her husband Michael J. Morgan was elected FRS. In 2004, she was elected to the Academy of Medical Sciences. She was also awarded the prestigious Darwin- Wallace Medal by the Linnean Society of London in 2008. She was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2009 and received the Croonian Lectureship of the Royal Society.
She was awarded Foreign Honorary Membership of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2010.
