Liam Vaughan Henry Fontaine, born 7 January 1986, is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Ross County. He played previously in the English leagues of Fulham, Yeovil Town, and Bristol City as well as in the Scottish leagues of Kilmarnock, Hibernian, and the English leagues of Fulham.

Fontaine joined Hibernian, a Scottish Championship side, on 26 August 2014. Fontaine made his debut that day in Hibernian’s 3-2 win against Dumbarton at the Scottish League Cup. Fontaine played 38 times and scored two goals during the 2014-15 season. He signed a two year contract with Hibernian in June 2015. In the March 2016 Scottish League Cup final, Fontaine scored a goal which Hibs lost to Ross County 2-1. Fontaine played the first 70 minute of the 2016 Scottish Cup Final. Hibs beat Rangers 3-2.

During a period out of football due to injury, Fontaine began playing the guitar. In September 2018 he released a single called “Life Lessons”.

On 31 January 2018, Fontaine joined Scottish Premiership team Ross County on a free transfer. He made his debut later that day, in a 4–2 defeat against Aberdeen.

Fontaine joined Championship side Yeovil Town on 2 September 2013 for a third spell. She was then loaned until January 2014. Fontaine was released from Bristol City at the conclusion of the 2013-14 season.

Fontaine was a Fulham youth player and represented England at the under-16 and under-17 levels. Fontaine was a Yeovil Town player during the first half of the 2004-05 season. The initial loan period was for one month. However, it was extended to two more months. In January 2005, he made two first team appearances with Fulham. His debut was in a Premier League match against Southampton at St. Mary’s, on 5 January. It was a draw 3-3. In the second half of the 2004-05 Scottish Premier League season, he was loaned to Kilmarnock.

Fontaine was first brought to Yeovil under the guidance of Gary Johnson. Fontaine had previously said to his defender that he would “bare his backside in Burton’s window” if the ball found him. Fontaine signed a new contract with Bristol City on 12 Jan 2012, to stay at the club through the end of 2014. He stated that his goal is to become the club’s permanent captain.

In June 2017, Fontaine signed a contract with Hibs for the 2017–18 season. He suffered an ankle injury playing for the Hibs under-20 side in September 2017, which head coach Neil Lennon said would prevent Fontaine from playing for at least 10 weeks.
