Fridge, who retired in 2003 and was the manager of Nairn County of Highland Football League from 2004 to 2016, has since been gone. Fridge was briefly also a coach for Caley Thistle’s youth teams.

Fridge returned to Inverness Caledonian Thistle after much travel. Fridge spent four years at Caley, but he struggled to make the Caledonian Stadium roster with Nicky Walker and Jim Calder. He signed in 2002 for Ross County, near his home.

Fridge is a product of the Scottish Highland Football League. He began his senior career at Inverness Thistle, his hometown club of the Scottish Highland Football League. As a 16-year old, Fridge played in goal for Inverness Thistle in the early 1980s against Celtic Park. Fridge scored six goals.

In April 1985, he transferred to Chelsea as a junior. In 1985-86, he was a regular player for the Juniors. He is a goalkeeper with good physical attributes and made his debut for Chelsea in the final game of the 1985-86 season, at Watford. Chelsea lost 5-1. This was his first and last game with Chelsea.
