Leonard Bundu (born 21 November 1974) is from Sierra Leone and is an Italian professional boxer. He has been the recipient of numerous regional welterweight championships. These include his European title two times between the years 2011 and, his European Union title from 2009 until 2010; and the Commonwealth championship in the year 2014 and has been a challenger in the fight for the WBA interim title of welterweight in 2014. In his amateur years, Bundu won a gold medal in the light-welterweight category at 1997’s Mediterranean Games; welterweight bronze at the 1999 World Championships; and represented Italy at the 2000 Olympics in 2000, in which he made it to the second round of the welterweight bracket.

On the 22nd of April, in 2016, Bundu was awarded the vacant European world title of welterweight for a second time after defeating Jussi Koivula after nine rounds. In the following year, on August 21, Bundu travelled to the US for the third time to fight Errol Spence Jr. Another undefeated fighter and an elimination match for the IBF world title. The initial three rounds were highly competitive and fast-paced as Bundu making use of his pressure fighting style and feints, however his punching output would slow after the fourth, as Spence began to use regular combinations and lateral movements. In round 6, Bundu was floored by an extremely hard uppercut, however it was wrongly classified as an attempt to push in the eyes of the judge. Two seconds after, Spence landed an uppercut-hook combination that resulted in Bundu in a slumber on the floor unconscious, his first loss to knockout. Bundu was also stripped of his European world title of welterweight.
