On the 15th of January, the 15th of January, Stolz got selected as the 18th pick by the New York Red Bulls in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Stolz was dropped from the draft because he initially said he was not going to sign for Major League Soccer; however Stolz did contact New York and informed them that of his intention to sign as a Red Bulls player if picked by the team. Stolz began his professional career in the SV Pullach. SV Pullach. He soon joined the youth team from 1860 Munich in 2004. He progressed through the youth system and eventually became a regular player with the team during the U 19 Bundesliga. The year 2010 saw him was a part of 1860 Munich II in the Regionalliga Sud. The team made its debut with the club on the 15th of October 2010 with a 3-1 win against SV Wehen Wiesbaden II. In his first season at Munich II Stolz appeared in 11 league games as an attacking midfielder.
Stolz was let go at the request of Red Bulls at the end of the 2015 MLS season.
Stolz was offered a senior contract with Munich 1860 in 2011 but decided to play college soccer in the United States joining George Mason University. In his first season in the United States Stolz appeared in 18 matches and scored four goals. After a strong first season, Stolz decided to transfer to UCLA. In three years with the Bruins, Stolz played in 63 matches and scored 20 goals and recorded 22 assists. At the end of the 2014 season, Stolz was awarded the Hermann Trophy recognizing him as the top college soccer player in the country. Stolz graduated from ESADE Business School, Barcelona on 28 October 2017 successfully finishing his Masters in International Management.
