Despite missing five months of the 2002–03 season due to ankle ligament damage and a hamstring problem, Roget was a starter when fit and after signing a contract extension in January 2003, he remained with Brentford until the end of the season. He signed a new one-year contract in May 2003, but after beginning the 2003–04 as a regular starter, he was transfer-listed after he “reacted to abuse from a section of the Griffin Park crowd” with “an obscene gesture to fans” after he was sent off during a 3–1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle on 6 September 2003. After a “performance where the fans could see his heart is at (Brentford)” versus Rushden & Diamonds one week later, Roget was reinstated to the starting lineup by manager Wally Downes and continued to keep his place until his contract was cancelled in late January 2004. During 18 months with Brentford, Roget made 33 appearances.

The following day, he made his only appearance for the club with a start in a 0–0 draw with Swindon Town, in which three players were sent off. Roget was an unused substitute during the remainder of the season’s matches and was part of the squad which sealed automatic promotion to the First Division on the final day of the season.
In the last year of the contract Roget played regularly for the first part of the 1999-00 campaign alongside Simon Coleman in central defence. He was dropped from the team in December of 1999 after an away defeat of 3-1 to Barnet in the league, he “stormed into the visitors’ changing room and broke their stereo with an angry kick” and later denied. Roget returned to the squad in January 2000 and completed a mid-table 1999-00 year with 40 games as well as two goals.
