Lee Waters is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 12, 1976 in Ammanford, Wales, United Kingdom. Lee Waters (born 12 February 1976) is a Welsh Labour and Co-operative politician who was elected Llanelli’s Member of Senedd in Llanelli in May of 2016.
Waters joined the charity for sustainable cycling Sustrans Cymru in January 2007. He spearheaded a campaign with his group Sustrans Cymru, the BMA as well as the NAHT who jointly wrote a letter to argue for an independent panel to look into the extent to which it was the case that the National Assembly for Wales was underfunded. This campaign was the basis of the Holtham Commission.
He was Vice-Chair of the successful 2011 Yes for Wales campaign, leading on communications for the campaign after being appointed to the cross-party steering committee by the First Minister.
In 2013, he was appointed the director of the Welsh independent think-tank, the Institute of Welsh Affairs. Upon joining the organisation he found it to be “nearly bankrupt” with tired staff and three months of funding left, and described his time in the role as highly fundraising-orientated. He left the role in 2016 in order to campaign to become the Senedd Member for Llanelli, a race which he won with a majority of 382.
In 2001, Waters was a part of his first assignment with the ITV Wales political unit where Waters was lobby reporter and hosted the weekly programme on politics, Waterfront before becoming the chief political reporter. Waters said he left from the business when he stopped studying shorthand and didn’t view it as a career “for a grown up”.

He attended the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. The university became a part of the Labour Party in 1994 upon the start of his studies. He was accepted into the university’s Parliamentary Placement Scheme where he was employed in Westminster. Following graduation, He took a gap year to be a part-time employee of his district’s Member of Parliament Alan Williams during the 1997 general election. He then worked in the role of Political Secretary for Davies on August 28, 1998, as part of the leadership race between Davies with Rhodri Morgan. Davies was famously sacked in 1998 following having a “moment of madness” in 1998.
In 2007 he became Director of the green transport organisation, Sustrans Cymru.
