Lee began skating for fun in 2002, when he was in the fourth grade in Seongok Primary School. A few years later Lee changed his speed skates from the long track to shorter speeds on track.

Lee was handed an exclusion of 3 years as well as his colleague Kwak Yoon-Gy due to a controversial foulplay. Lee had written a letter declaring that he was not suitable to participate at the World Championships 2010 Sofia, due to an injury. The note turned out to be false as Lee acknowledged that his coach had forced Lee to pull out of the event to give his the teammate Kwak Yoon-Gy an opportunity to earn an award. Kwak Yoon-Gy would go on to take home Gold at the 1500m.

Lee Jung-su (Korean Ijeongsu ; Korean pronunciation: [i.dz^NG.suBorn on November 30 1989) is a South Korean short track speed skater. He has been twice Olympic Champion from 2010 Winter Olympics.
Lee took home one of the distances and was ranked second overall at his 2008 World Junior Championships in Bolzano. Lee won the the 2009 and 2010 Overall World Cup. In the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Lee won two gold medals in the 1500m and 1000m events.
