In May 2007 the player was signed by Conference South club Newport County. In September 2007, he was awarded by the Conference South Player of the Month. However in spite of Newport being just a hair short of making it to the play- offs and winning the FAW Premier Cup in 2008, Jarman was released by Newport. FAW Premier Cup final, Jarman was let go at the request of Newport at the close of the 2007-08 season becoming a player for Haverfordwest County in the League of Wales Premier Division. He played one season for Haverfordwest before joining Welsh Premier League club Llanelli who is which is managed by old Cardiff colleague Andy Legg. Jarman was absent for the first month of the campaign due to injuries before making his debut in October. making his debut goal his fourth league game during a 4-0 win against Aberystwyth Town on 27 November.

Jarman had a stint on trial with Carlisle United and Brentford before joining non-league side Merthyr Tydfil. In March of 2000, he joined Exeter City on a weekly contract. He made seven appearances before the end of the season. He then was let go, and then signing with Oxford United on a one-year contract. He played regularly during the first half of the 2000-01 campaign before becoming unpopular and departing the club at the expiration of the contract. He made the move to non-league football, signing with Barry Town where he spent two years before signing with Weston-superMare.

A centre-half player, he began his career at his home side, Cardiff City. After being involved with Cardiff City from the age of 10 when he was a schoolboy, he joined the club at the age of 15 and was a YTS player in the year following. He made his debut for the professional team during the 1995-96 season with an 3-2 win against Gillingham during the Football League Trophy at the age of 18 due to an injury sustained by Lee Baddeley. The first time he played in the league was just four days later, on October 21st in the 1-0 victory over Lincoln City and his early performances earned him the recognition of one of the top young defenders in Britain drawing the attention of a few Premier League teams, even being rejected by Cardiff and was given his first appearance for the Wales under-21 squad in the 3-0 victory over San Marino during the summer of 1996. Later, he was appointed captain the squad.

Jarman was a regular in the team with the direction of manager Frank Burrows, spending time playing right-back, even being a stand-in captain when Dave Penney was injured. A former Cardiff coach Kenny Hibbitt once described Jarman as “the best footballer at Cardiff City” however his decline in form led to his dismissal in the 1999-2000 season.

In 2013, Lee Jarman departed Aberdare Athletic F.C. to return to former club Barry Town F.C. (now Barry Town United) as player/coach for the club.
