Lee Anthony Butcher (born 11 October 1988) is an English professional footballer, who last had a stint with Tilbury as goalkeeper. He began his career as a junior player with Norwich City and Arsenal, after which he joined Tottenham Hotspur following his release in 2007. After loan spells at several clubs outside of the league He joined League One Club Leyton Orient on loan on 14 October 2009. He joined Leyton Orient on an ongoing basis in May of 2010.
After the close of the 2009-10 campaign, Jones signed with Leyton Orient on a one-year contract following his departure from Tottenham in the month of May. Leyton Orient made their League debut as an extra during the draw against Oldham Athletic on 2 October after Jones was again injured. After a total of ten appearances in all competitions, he was unable to keep his place after Jason Brown was brought in on loan at the end of November. He was on the bench until April 2011, when a second Jones injury forced him in the first squad for the journey towards Carlisle United. Butcher saved an extra penalty at the 8th minute and Orient defeated Carlisle United 1-1. Butcher returned back to first-team at the start in the season 2011-12 following another Jones injury. He also was able to save two penalties during the 4-3 penalty shoot-out win of Orient against Southend United on 9 August. After making his way into the first team during Jones absent, Butcher suffered an anterior ligament injury to the cruciate during an accident during the 3-1 loss at home against Scunthorpe United on 18 February 2012, which meant he was out for the rest of the campaign. Butcher was never able to return to the first team due to another injury. After 38 games in all matches, he was dismissed by Orient on April 30, 2013.
At the end of July, Butcher agreed to sign a contract for one year with Tottenham. After that, he rejoined Grays Athletic, during the subsequent 2009-10 season under a one-month loan agreement beginning on September 1, where He made five more games during the Conference National. On October 14 He signed a loan contract to League One club Leyton Orient to cover Glenn Morris after Jamie Jones was injured. Butcher came back to Tottenham on the 17th of November after he was not able to make an appearance in the first team of Leyton Orient.

Born from Waltham Forest, Butcher grew up in Chingford. He began his professional career at Norwich City as a schoolboy before becoming a member of Arsenal at 10 years old and at the age of 15 He was named as the goalkeeper at the Tournament at the Cannes Football Festival of 2004. He was let go by Arsenal at the end of May 2007, and was able to participate in trials for Leeds United and Wycombe Wanderers. After playing in a few pre-season friendly games in the Tottenham Hotspur reserves and under-18s He eventually joined the club.
In the 2007-08 campaign, Butcher made 11 appearances in his club Tottenham Hotspur reserve team. In January 2008 He was loaned away to Isthmian League Premier Division club AFC Wimbledon, making his debut against Maidstone United in their 2-1 victory on January 5. The player made seven appearances across all games. The month of September, 2008 saw Butcher was brought in by Margate on loan and made four appearances in the months of September and October. He was then signed by Grays Athletic in late December 2008, but he did not appear in the first squad. St Albans City signed Butcher on loan in March 2009, and the player made six appearances during the Conference South. Butcher returned to Grays towards the end of the 2008-09 season when he made his debut at Grays’ Conference National for Grays on 18 April, in the 2-0 defeat against Altrincham. Butcher was part of three games with Grays prior to his return to Tottenham towards the end of the season.
Butcher joined Conference National side Welling United in August 2013 to provide cover for the injured Sam Mott. He later joined Tilbury, making 43 appearances in all competitions, but left in order to concentrate on his main job, working on the London Underground.
