Laurie Hendren, FRSC (December 13 1958 – May 27 April, 2019,) was an Canadian computer scientist who was noted for her work in computer programming and compilers.

In the year 2019 Hendren won the prestigious AITO Dahl-Nygaard Prize However, she died prior to the ECOOP conference, where the prize is normally given. The prize was awarded posthumously.

Hendren was given an award named the Leo Yaffe Prize for Teaching Excellence at The Faculty of Science at McGill University during the period 2006-2007. She was appointed the ACM Fellow at the end of 2009; was awarded an ACM Canada Research Chair in 2011 and was elected an associate Fellow in the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.
