Wenger was an All-American during her time at Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California, and was awarded a scholar-athlete honor throughout her four years. She was a member of the 2002 team that was with the US National Team that won the Pan-American Championship. From 2003 until 2006 she was a student at USC during her senior year, she was the leader of the Trojans team in assists and steals, being the no. 8 all-time scorer , with 127 goals in her career. Wenger is a part of the U.S National Team, and was instrumental in helping Team USA win silver at the 2005 Water Polo World Championship. At USC she earned a degree in the areas of policy, planning, and development.
She participated in her first international game for the Greek superpower Olympiacos in Greece in 2006-2007.
In August 2012, she won the gold medal in London 2012 Olympic Games with the US team, defeating Spain in the final match.
