She scored the goal that won the Australian team the gold medal match against China at the 2011 Canada Cup. In July, she participated in a warm up match against Italy for the FINA World League 2011. She was a field player for the Australian Stingers at the FINA World Championships 2011 in Shanghai in July 2011. She attended a Perth team training camp to prepare for the tournament. In January 2012, she competed for the Australian Barbarians at the Pan Pacific Championships. She was selected to the 2012 Summer Olympics’ final training squad in February 2012. Training camp began on February 20, 2012 at the Australian Institute of Sport. With the team now down to seventeen players, the team will depart for the Olympic games. The announcement was made on the 13th of June. She was part the Stingers team that participated in a five-game match against Great Britain at AIS in February 2012. These matches were the first against Great Britain in six years.
Moran is a club water polo player for the Brisbane Barracudas, who compete in National Water Polo League. She was there for the 2008, 2011, and 2012 seasons. She took time off during the 2009 and 2010 club season to prepare for the Olympics and focus on her job as Aurecon’s civil engineer. She played her 200th league game against the University of Western Australia Torpedoes in February 2012. This made her the first female league player and second league player to achieve this milestone.
