In the 2012 Summer Olympics Trott took home the gold medal in the team pursuit event with Dani King and Joanna Rowsell. Team Trott set a new world records time of 3:14.051 during this event. This includes pre-Olympics events as well as the Olympics final itself, over their six races they been riding together, they broke the world record in each race. She also took gold in the omnium just two days after winning medals in the team chase.
