While also headlining numerous family/animal films, between 1997 and 2004, Zegers had starring or costarring roles in many low- budget horror films, often Canadian, including Shadow Builder, Komodo (1999), Wrong Turn (2003), and Fear of the Dark and The Hollow (both 2004).
