Kathleen Murray O’Sullivan (born August 21 1969) is an attorney in Washington attorney who practices in private practice. In 2018 she was named an option to be an United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington but she was not officially announced as a candidate for the post.
She’s been a part of her legal career with Perkins Coie, with the only two years that she worked as a clerk. She was an assistant to the Judge Harold H. Greene of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia from 1996 until 1997. She also served as a law clerk for the Judge M. Margaret McKeown of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 1998 to 1999.
On July 13, 2018, President Trump announced his intention to re-nominate O’Sullivan to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. President Trump was to nominate O’Sullivan to the seat on the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington vacated by Judge Marsha J. Pechman, who took senior status on February 6, 2016. However, due to a dispute over a separate nomination, the nomination was never actually submitted to the Senate.
