Driscoll was born in Chatham, Kent, on 13 March 1976. She started trampolining in seven years old after having lessons during school holiday breaks. Driscoll was a student at the Rochester Grammar School for Girls. As a member of Jumpers Trampoline Club in Gillingham (Kent) she took her first part in the international circuit after she participated during the World Age Games in 1998. Between September 2003 between July 2004 and September 2003, Kat also studied at MidKent College on a BTEC First Diploma in Sport course. She also had an interest in swimming, but decided to pursue trampolining. From 2010 on, Driscoll worked full-time at the bank HSBC as she trained. In 2010, she was able to access funding from UK Sport enabling her to become an all-time trampolinist. She has described her ability to pursue the sport for a full time as a pivotal moment for her professional career.

In the 2012 Gymnastics Olympics Test Event held at the O2 Arena in January 2012 and where the trampolining event are scheduled for Olympic Games in the 2012 Summer Olympics will be held during July Driscoll was fourth in the standings. Even though she finished eighth at the events of individual athletes of the 2012 European Championships, she took home the silver medal in the synchronized competition with Amanda Parker, and was part of the British team that took home the Gold Medal. A little over a month prior to the official naming ceremony for the British team, she was crowned the winner of an award at the North West Gala on 3 June. Katherine “Kat” Driscoll (born 13 March 1986) is a British trampoline gymnast who has been ranked the world’s top trampoline gymnast. She was a full-time gymnast in 2010 and since then has won medals in synchronised and team events in the World and European Championships. She was selected to be part of in the British Team at 2012’s 2012 Summer Olympics in the wake of she earned Great Britain a spot in the women’s Trampolining after performances at the Trampoline World Championships.

She was awarded gold at the Aalsmeer Flower Cup in 2009. She has also won the British championship two times, and was in the top three places twice in 2011, during World Cup competitions. Driscoll was entered into the 2010 Trampoline World Championships in Birmingham, England, as the world’s top performer in Trampolining due to her frequent attendance and impressive performance in World Cup competitions giving her more points than competitors who didn’t attend as many. Her name was cited as by BBC Sport prior to the Championships as “Great Britain’s secret world number one”. She placed ninth however, since National Olympic Committees are only permitted to send 2 athletes at the Games as well as China was one of four teams who were in the top eight places She was awarded seventh Olympic entry for a sole trampolinist in the Olympic 2012 Games. However, she will need to earn the right to participate through a number of events. She did it again in the World Championships in Denmark 2015 with a 7th place finish at the Individual Final, thus again being able to secure the GB spot this time at Rio 2016. Rio 2016 Olympic Games – the only GB trampolinist to win two consecutive places in Olympic Games. Olympic Games – and again she’ll need to meet the requirements for the spot through a variety of events.
