Kamel Mahadin is one of the most popular and richest Engineer who was born on June 24, 1954 in Al Karak, Karak Governorate, Jordan. Kamel Mahadin (Arabic Kamel Mahadin (Arabic: kml mHdyn; born on June 24 1954) is a Jordanian architect landscape architect and professor. He is also an author, author and artist. He was the Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and was a Jordanian senator in The House of Senate.

In October of 2017, Kamel was the first arab to receive an ASLA America Society of Landscape Architects Fellowship. Mahadin, Dr. Mahadin, received his nomination in Service by the Council of Fellows Executive Committee.

On November 14, 2014 a Royal Decree was issued approving the Cabinet’s acceptance of Kamel Mahadin’s resignation, effective November 8. A second decree was issued to appoint Kamel Mahadin to the Senate on the 9th of November.

Kamel Mahadin, the father of Ottallah Mahadin, a retired governor, as well as the mother of his father, Huryeh Al Usta. In 1982, he was married Khalida Maaitah, with whom the three sons he has are Tariq, Yazan, Amer and a daughter Tamara. In addition to Arabic, Mahadin is fluent in English.

Kamel is a native of Karak, Jordan in 1954 He completed his secondary education through the school of high-school in Mafraq, Jordan and received an award by the United States Agency for International Development to pursue a degree in Architectural studies in the American University of Beirut. After four years of study, his scholarships were transferred back to United States due to war in Lebanon He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Kansas State University and Masters in landscape architecture from Louisiana State University. Doctorates in Environmental Design were awarded by Texas A & M University. He was the campus planner at Louisiana State University and later as a visiting lecturer for Texas A&M University. In 1987, he returned to Jordan as a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at University of Jordan in Jordan, where he was appointed the department’s chair from 1991 until 1995. In 1987, he established M K Associates; Jordan’s sole specialist landscape design company. In the course of twenty years, he worked as a landscape consultant to Amman Greater Municipality, Mutah University, Al- El Beit University and the Ministry of Tourism and served as a consultant in the field of landscape design to the Royal Court. In January 1997, he was the Director General of Petra Regional Council, and in 1999, he assumed the position in Director General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation. Then, in June of 2000, he returned returning to instructing and pursuing Landscape Design, running M.K. Associates; a landscape design firm. The firm has been practicing design throughout The United States, the Persian Gulf and the Middle East. With a range of published works on his subject. Kamel is a licensed landscaping architect within the US. He is registered with the International Federation of Landscape Architects as well as the American Society of Landscape Architects (Texas and Louisiana) and the Jordan Society of Architects and Engineers. On August 2nd 2012. Kamel was appointed the chief commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority. He has removed as a member of MK Associates and MEALA as chairman of the board.

In November 2019, Kamel has been awarded the “Life Time Achievement Award” at the First Landscape Middle East Awards Ceremony at the Ritz Carlton DIFC Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Event was dedicate to the memory of Dr Musa Nimah (1942-2016). The awards ceremony honored those who through their dedication, creativity and relentless efforts, have left a positive impact on the landscape profession in the region.
