Kaduvetti Guru Biography

Kaduvetti Guru is one of the most popular and richest Indian Politician who was born on February 1, 1961 in Kaduvetti, India. Guru began his life on the 1st of January 1961, in Kaduvetti that is now area of Ariyalur district in Tamil Nadu. Guru was the child of an Ariyalur district head from the Communist Party of India. He was a post-graduate with an MA degree and was a citizen of Kaduvetti. He passed away at the age of 57 on the 25th of May 2018 at a private hospital with his spouse, father and daughter.

Commentaries made from Guru against various Dravida-Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Ministers during June of 2008 led the DMK to break its relationship with the PMK even though the relationship had been rocky for a while prior to. Guru was arrested and placed in July under remand under suspicion of attempted murder. In July, the PMK chief, S. Ramadoss, protested against the arrest, saying it was an act of political revenge. The detention orderthat was issued pursuant to the National Security Act and upheld by the Madras High Court was revoked in November that year. It was accompanied by conditions which included posting bail in the two pending cases against him, which included the attempted murder charge, and also a ban on giving inflammatory speeches.

There were further legal problems in 2012, when he was cited under the Indian Penal Code by the police for unlawful assembly and riot in relation to a speech he allegedly delivered at Thazhambur, Kancheepuram district. Furthermore, a speech at the Chithirai festival in Mamallapuram resulted in his 2013 arrest under the National Security Act.

At the time of the 2016 state assembly elections, there were 18 police cases pending against Guru, of which charges had been pressed in six. This was the greatest number filed against any candidate, with the combined total for all candidates being 324.

Guru was found not guilty in the 2008 attempted murder trial in 2010 because of the lack of evidence. In the state assembly elections in 2011, Guru and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate M. Muruganandam were cited as having the highest-quality cases of candidates, having nine cases each. Guru, whose cases mostly involved accusations that he attempted to murder people, damages to public property, and speech that incited racial hate — claimed that he’s not lost a case, and added that “”No justice system has ever convicted me to date. A variety of cases could be brought against me, but only my conscience, the public and God determine if I am an incriminate or not.”

K. N. Ramajeyalingam of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

When Guru stood in the Tiruvannamalai constituency in the 2009 general elections, he suffered a record defeat as the DMK targeted PMK candidates after the break-up of the alliance.
