born in Aurora, Colorado, White started in soccer when she was five years old. She was a student at Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington, Texas where she was selected on the NSCAA All-America team in 2001. She also was an NSCAA Parade All-American selection. White played in the club soccer league for the Solar ’84 team and Defeeters 1984. She was also a part of Regional Olympic Development Program (ODP) team from 1997 until 2002.

White was a student at her time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2002 and 2005. Her final year at the university saw her scored 22 goals and served with 58 assists, which equates to the total of 102 points throughout her college career. She was also fifth on the all-time North Carolina career assists list, and fourth on the national scale in 2003, with 16 assists. She was a midfielder in the starting lineup in The Tar Heels when they won the 2003 College Cup. The year 2005 was the time that White was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) honours during the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) tournament.

In 2008, White was selected 21st overall during the 2009 WPS Draft by Sky Blue FC. She started in 19 of the 22 games she played during the inaugural season of the Women’s Professional Soccer and scored three goals. After spending half of the season in last place, Sky Blue won the 2009 WPS championship title after defeating the Los Angeles Sol 1–0 during the final. She returned to Sky Blue during the 2010 season, starting 23 of 24 games.
