K. Chandrashekar Rao is one of the most popular and richest Minister who was born on February 17, 1954 in Siddipet, India. Rao was born Kalvakuntla Raghava Rao and Venkatamma in the Chintamadaka village in Siddipet Mandal in Medak District, Telangana, on 17 February 1954. He earned an MA level in English Literature at Osmania University, Hyderabad.

TRS was a part of the United Progressive Alliance coalition government that was headed by Congress. He was later the Union Cabinet minister of Labour and Employment within the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre alongside his colleague from the party Aelay Narendra, who was appointed minister of Rural Development and Jannu Jakaraiah as chairman of the National Minimum Wages Advisory Board. The party later pulled out of the coalition, stating that the Alliance did not want to endorse an independent Telangana state. He resigned as a MP in 2006 following a contest to Congress as well. Won with a massive majority of more than 200 000 votes. In 2006, he resigned his position as MP as a result of the Telangana movement and was able to win with a slight majority.

His welfare programs are aimed at reviving the rural economy and are focused on the development of each community. An intensive household survey, Samagra Kutumba Survey (SKS) was done in a single day on 19 August 2014 across the state to arrive at citizen information for rolling out welfare programs. The data collected pertaining to 94 parameters, covered one crore four lakh households in the State.

KCR was sworn in as the first chief minister of the Telangana state at 12.57 pm on 2 June 2014. Rao, a staunch believer in astrology, numerology and Vaastu, is reported to have fixed this time for his inauguration as per the advice of priests to suit his lucky number ‘six’. On the 27th of April, 2001 Rao was removed as the Deputy Speaker of the TDP Party as well. He was a defender of those in the Telangana region who were discriminated against and believed that a separate state was the only way to solve this issue. Then, in the month of April 2001, Rao founded his Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Party in Jala Drushyam, Hyderabad to attain Telangana statehood. In the 2004 elections, Rao won the Siddipet state assembly seat and his Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency, both as an TRS candidate. The TRS won the general elections of 2004 together alongside the Indian National Congress with a Promise of Congress Party to offer Telangana State and Rao was one of five TRS candidates that were elected as MPs.

Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar R., more commonly known as K.C.R., (born 17 February 1954) is an Indian politician, and his first chief minister of Telangana which is a state that was created through the dissolution from Andhra Pradesh in 2014. He is the Leader and founder of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a regional political party in India. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly (Telangana) from the Gajwel constituency in Siddipet District in Telangana. Prior to that, he was an elected member of the Legislative Assembly (Andhra Pradesh) from Siddipet as well as being the Member of Parliament for Mahbubnagar, Karimnagar and Medak. He was sworn in as chief minister of the newly created state of Telangana on the 2nd of June, 2014. The state held early elections in the year 2018 when his cabinet voted to dissolve the lower legislative house nine months prior to the end of the period he served. He took his oath again in the capacity of Chief Minister for Telangana to serve a second time on the 13th of December, 2018.

KCR was a member of the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) at the age of 33. He was a candidate in the election against A. Madan Mohan and was defeated in that election. He was able to win 4 consecutive Assembly elections between Siddipet between 1985 and 1999. Between 1987 and 1988, he was employed as the Minister for Drought & Relief in Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao’s cabinet. In 1990 he was appointed TDP chairman in the Medak, Nizamabad, and Adilabad districts. He was appointed in 1996 to was employed as the minister of Transport within Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu’s cabinet. He was also the vice-president of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from 2000-2001.

In 2009, Rao fought and won the Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha elections. In November 2009, he started a fast-unto-death, demanding the introduction of Telangana Bill in the Indian Parliament. After 11 days of beginning his fast, the Central Government said yes to Telangana as a separate state.
