In summer 2014, Jampol co-curated Competing Utopias at the Neutra VDL House in Silver Lake, California, installing three floors of modernist Eastern Bloc design in the former home of California-based architect Richard Neutra. The show was #3 in Hyperallergic’s annual “Top Ten Exhibitions Across the United States.”

As the Executive Director for The Wende Museum, Jampol oversaw the museum’s move to a former National Guard Armory building in Culver City. A lease of 75 years for the site of the armory was approved unanimously at members of the City Council of Culver City during November of 2012. Following renovations that were completed, the Wende Museum was reopened to the public at its new home in November 2017, with an opening exhibit titled Cold War Spaces.

In 2002 at the age of 24 years old, Jampol Jampol established The Wende Museum (“Wende” is an German word that translates to changing or transition) while he was studying the visual arts during his time at Oxford University. Since it was established the museum, it has become an unparalleled collection in the world of Cold War era artifacts and artworks in Europe.

The Wende Museum is known for its vast and often controversial installations. In 2009, in celebration on the anniversary 20 years ago of the collapse of Berlin Wall, Jampol brought 10 segments (24 tonnes) from the first Wall from Germany and erected the pieces in Wilshire Boulevard, which is located in Los Angeles, directly across the street from LACMA. In the evening of November 9 2009, a throng of people from the city were seated on the street to commemorate the memorial, which was decorated by well-known graffiti artists, including Shepard Fairey, RETNA, Heraku, Thierry Noir, and D*Face.

In 2014, Jampol published a 904-page encyclopedia of the Wende Museum’s East German collection titled Beyond the Wall: Art and Artifacts from the GDR. The book was produced by Benedikt Taschen and published by Taschen Books. It received an overwhelmingly positive review in the New York Times Sunday Book Review. The book was launched on November 9, 2014 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
