After another time with Locarno, Barbas returned to Argentina where he played brief stint at Club Atletico Huracan before dropping into the lower leagues to play for Alvarado Mar del Plata , and later All Boys, where he was retired in 1997.
Barbas was a member of the Sion team who took home in the years 1991-1992 Swiss Championship.
