Jostein Theodore Flo (born on the 3rd of October, 1964) is an Norwegian former professional footballer who was a forward. Usually , he was a striker or centre-forward He was famous for his athletic style of play as well as his aerial strength and also was capable to play on the left side. He is the Director of Football at Stromsgodset.
At club at the club level, Flo usually played as the centre forward. As a member of his time with the Norwegian the national side, he also served as a goalie however, he was a the right wing position, and played an integral role in the strategies used by the former Norway coach Egil Olsen. In the 4-5-1 style of formation left backs often sent large crosses at Flo who would direct the ball towards any of the midfielders in central, or towards the forward. This was referred to by”the Flo Pass.
Flo was retired following the 2002 season, scoring 120 goals over 184 games played for Stromsgodset. Following his football career, he was a marketing assistant for the club until he took on the post as executive director from October 2004 until January 2006. Flo is currently director of football for Stromsgodset.
