When he returned for his senior season, Nesbitt was injured on his right arm following an attack on the 4th of November in 2010 against. Virginia Tech. He was out for the rest of the season, however not before establishing some remarkable records for his position. With 28006 rushing yards in his career, Nesbitt rushed for more yards than any quarterback in ACC history and more than 1,000 more yards than the quarterbacks in Georgia Tech history. He also scored 35 career touchdowns, 6 more than the average other quarterback during the entire history of the ACC plus 16 more points than the quarterback in the history of Yellow Jacket quarterback before Nesbitt.

The 2009 season was a success with Nesbitt score 18 touchdowns and rush 1037 yards. Nesbitt also ran 1701 yards in the air, scoring 10 times. He played his team of Yellow Jackets to an ACC Championship Game and an BCS Bowl game. The Jackets ended the season with a 11-3 record following their 2011 FedEx Orange Bowl loss to Iowa. Nesbitt was named the 2009 ACC first-team quarterback. He was included on the all-conference team by Jonathan Dwyer, Demaryius Thomas, Cord Howard, Sean Bedford, Derrick Morgan, and Morgan Burnett, all of who played on this year’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team with Nesbitt.

Nesbitt was signed to the Bills 53-man roster as a safety on November 15,

2011. He was waived/injured by the Bills on August 22, 2012, and subsequently reverted to injured reserve on August 24.
