His most memorable win on the professional circuit came when he was paired together with Travis Parrott to win a Challenger event in Birmingham, Alabama in 2003. He also had a notable singles victory over his former teammate Stan Wawrinka in the qualifying rounds of the 2004 Turin Challenger.
His coaching career started in 2006, at Arizona State University, where he worked as an assistant coach for two seasons. This was followed by two years at Duke University, also as an assistant coach.
Since 2011 he has been the head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks men’s tennis team.
Then at ATP Tour level he was an ATP quarter-finalist along alongside Ricardo Mello at the 2003 Brasil Open in Sao Paulo and was at the top of the draw in the Kitzbuhel doubles event in 2004.

Between 1998 and 2001, from 1998 to 2001, he was a student at Clemson University. He was named three times as a member of three times the All-ACC premier team. He was in the top 10 of the college rankings for singles as well as doubles. After finishing with a financial degree, in the year 2001, he toured professionally for four seasons. He played the most effectively as a doubles athlete.
Goffi represented his birth country during his career and in 2004 was called up to Brazil’s Davis Cup team, which had been hit by a boycott from its top players.
