The family was raised and born from Westerly, Rhode Island, Diekmann was born in the state of Rhode Island, is Italian descent was a graduate of Westerly High School at the age of the year 1995. Diekmann began his training in 2002, at 26 years old in Whaling City Boxing in Waterford, Connecticut, which is run by Kent Ward, father of Brennan Ward, the current Bellator Welterweight Brennan Ward.
