Jorge Hank Rhon is one of the most popular and richest Mexican businessman who was born on January 28, 1956 in Toluca, Mexico. Jorge Hank Rhon (born January 28th 1956) is a Mexican businessman who is also the owner of Mexico’s most popular company for sports betting, Grupo Caliente. He was president from December 2004 until February 2007 as mayor of Tijuana. He is the father of the former Mexico City mayor Carlos Hank Gonzalez and Guadalupe Rhon. Hank is also the father of the professional tennis pro Tigre Hank as well as the father of Matador Alejandro Amaya.
In the final months in 2006 Jorge Hank expressed his desire to run a campaign in the Baja California state election. The announcement sparked a furious response from PAN officials who claimed that Hank would be in violation of California’s Antichapulin (“anti-grasshopper”) legislation which forbids those in public office from being able to “jump” from one charge to another without having to end their current period of office.
In February 2007 he requested permission from leaving his post as municipal president to accept the candidacy for governor by the Alianza para que vivas mejor (The Alliance So You May live better), which was approved by his party’s regidores and denied by the PAN regidores. The PAN also accused five district electoral council members of partiality towards Hank because they served as judges during his administration as president of Tijuana. The Federal Electoral Tribune rejected the complaint determining that the law does not have such restriction that would prevent these five lawyers from serving as judges and then as council members
On February 20, 2007 Hank requested a license to leave his post as mayor. The license was approved by nine PRI representatives with six PAN representatives rejecting the license and one PRD representative abstaining from voting. Multiple billboards reporting Hank actions as mayor were put out after the annual report and PAN representative complained and offered to remove the PAN- sponsored radio spots on fighting radar camera-issued tickets.
On February 8, 2005, the Hank administration launched the five million peso Center of Communication, Control, Computing and Command (C4) which included 60 high-definition cameras. To to reduce kidnappings which have been a major issue of Tijuana for a long time the municipal government launched the process of installing GPS devices on the vehicles that could be victims. 2007 saw the introduction of a programme that included road security cameras implemented in Tijuana which issued speeding ticket that saw drivers receive upwards of 800 tickets on the same day, at the same time, and at the same day, at the same time, and in the same place.

From German descendance, Jorge Hank Rhon studied at the Alexander von Humboldt German College as well as Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Anahuac in the State of Mexico.
