Bitter began his career in football at the age 6 at the local amateur club RKSV DCG in his hometown Amsterdam. Then he joined the local SV DTS from where he joined the youth team of AZ located in Alkmaar and later moved into HFC Haarlem after which he joined the youth squad of Dutch big boys AFC Ajax, following the end of the AFC team of Haarlem in 2010.

Bitter was the first player to make his debut with the Netherlands under-17 team in a friendly game with Greece U-17 on February 8th 2011. The match ended in winning 1-0 to the Dutch. Following a second friendly match played for the Netherlands U-17, which ended in a 2 – 0 win against Belgium U-17 on the 2nd of March 2011 Bitter was called up to play three qualification games, in preparation for this year’s UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship in Serbia. The Dutch U-17 player was not a part of the final competition, which the Dutch were victorious, and secured the first European Under-17 Championship title. The three qualifiers which Bitter did play took place with Austria U-17 Croatia U-17, and Portugal U-17. The matches ended with two draws and wins to the Netherlands. Bitter did play at the 2012 FIFA U-17 World Cup for the Netherlands U-17. He was in the matches in the matches against North Korea U-17 and Mexico U-17 in Mexico that ended with an unbeatable draw and defeat for the Dutch after they left the tournament following in the first round.
