Jordan McGhee (born 24 July 1996) is a Scottish professional footballer who is a player with Dundee as a defense. He started playing at Heart of Midlothian and had an extended loan spell at Middlesbrough. Then he spent two years in Falkirk and was the captain of the team in January of 2019 up to the time of his departure.

In January 2016, McGhee nearly moved into Middlesbrough on loan, but the transfer fell through because paperwork wasn’t completed on time. In July, Middlesbrough returned to sign McGhee on a loan of a season to join Middlesbrough’s development squad.

In June 2019, McGhee signed a two-year deal with Dundee, who had been relegated to the Championship the previous season. McGhee became a key figure for the Dark Blues, impressing in a variety of different positions, scoring two important goals in consecutive games, and playing in every game until getting surgery on his hand in February 2020, which sidelined him for a couple of weeks. McGhee would be voted by his teammates as Dundee’s Player’s Player of the Year at the end of the season.

In January of 2015, McGhee signed a contract with Hearts which was scheduled to expire at the close of the season 2016-17. Ipswich Town made two offers in the region of PS250,000 for McGhee in August of 2015, but both of them were turned down by Hearts.

McGhee joined Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) in 2007 after having been a player for Claremont Boys Club. In July 2012 the club signed him to an official contract for three years which binds them to their club till the end of 2015. As a part of the club’s youth group McGhee made his first-team debut at the age of 16 on the 4th of May, 2013, making his debut as a substitute in the 86th minute at Tynecastle in the Scottish Premier League match against St Mirren, replacing Mehdi Taouil during a 3-0 win. The following season, on the 24th of August 2013, on his second substitute appearance McGhee scored his debut official goal in a professional match, scoring an 88th minute winner in a win of 2-1 against Aberdeen during the Scottish Premiership. In the following week, he was given his first appearance in the Scottish Premiership against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in the 2-0 loss.

After making himself a regular center back with Stuart Findlay, he captained the Scotland under-21 team at first in an international friendly against Switzerland on November 18, 2014, which was a draw 1-1.

McGhee moved to Scottish Championship club Falkirk in August 2017 for an undisclosed transfer fee. He made his debut two days later on 2 September 2017, starting at centre-back as his new side defeated Sligo Rovers in the Challenge Cup 2-1. McGhee was named as team captain in January 2019. Despite the team’s best efforts, the Bairns were relegated to the Scottish League One at the end of the 2018–19 season.
