Jonathan Birch (born 15 February 1968) is an English professional snooker player from the past.
The player was not able to replicate the same form until the year 1993 when he was in the quarterfinals in the 1993 Dubai Classic; there, the American defeated Mike Hallett, Dennis Taylor and Terry Griffiths en route to being whitewashed 0-5 Stephen Hendry. Birch’s performance was inconsistent, but this was enough to make him a middle-ranked “journeyman” player He was in the final 16 of the 1997 European Open in 1996-97, in which he was again defeated to Hendry again, this time 5-3. In the course of the following season the player reached his highest career rating of 42nd.
He defeated a declining Steve Davis 5–2 en route to losing to Ali Carter by the same scoreline in the last 32 of the 1999 Grand Prix; Birch had made a 52 break in the final frame against Carter but lost it 59–69.
